The use of rice as a side dish has already become familiar to many Russians. However, not all types of this product are equally useful. There is one type of this side dish that prevents the onset of cancer and even protects the heart.

Nutritionists, for example, strongly recommend giving up white rice, because during processing it loses the vast majority of useful and nutrients, so it is best to opt for brown rice. The latter contains a large amount of proteins, basic mineral compounds and a huge amount of fiber, which is very beneficial for the intestines. In addition to the beneficial effects of brown rice on digestion, it is also noted that this product has potential in fighting inflammation, primarily due to the presence of selenium and antioxidants in its composition.
Brown rice is also good for the heart. Studies have shown that magnesium and selenium in its composition prevent the accumulation of “bad” cholesterol in the arteries, which is associated with an increased risk of developing diseases of the cardiovascular system. Among other things, a number of studies have revealed the potential of this side dish to reduce the risk of developing cancer, including breast and colon cancer, which brown rice owes all the same antioxidants and selenium.
At the same time, nutritionists emphasize that this product goes well with herbs and protein foods, so it can be used not only as a side dish, but also as an ingredient in a salad, soup or pilaf.
