The future of Nairo Quintana is still being debated, after his controversial departure from Arkea Samsic, amid the investigation for the use of Tramadol during the 2022 edition of the Tour de France. In Europe, the journalist Charles Marsault spoke about the possible new squad of the boyacá native.

For now Quintana rules out returning to the national squad, anticipating that he still has some left seasons in the highest category of cycling in Europe, for which he responded to the invitation of the Antioquia team with a smile: “Thank you very much for the invitation, the truth is not among my budgets at the moment, we continue pedaling and continue towards go ahead, and well it is so”, he told Telemedellín while being asked about his Gran Fondo to be run this November 18, 19 and 20.
The winner of the Vuelta a Spain and the Giro d'Italia spoke at a press conference in the middle of the opening party of his Gran Fondo in Antioquia and made it clear that by 2023 he would be on the WorldTour: “I can't say much plus. We will be in the WorldTour, we will continue pedaling hard, we are moving forward. The idea is to stay motivated to win races and represent my land. It is what I have in mind and we are going strong to do it. Next year we'll be big”, he commented.
Quintana said that if it were up to him, he would tell right now which team it is, but that it is squad policy not yet to reveal his name publicly. The important thing is that for many it is good news that the award-winning athlete from Boyacá continues in cycling at the highest level.
