MP's soup day – Promise to offer white-cheeked goose soup to the electorate

Member of Parliament Mikko Kärnä (Centre) has chosen white-cheeked goose-free Helsinki as his election theme.

In honor of that, he says he will offer white-cheeked goose soup to the electorate at Helsinki's Narinkkator on Saturday.

Kärnä says that he wants to emphasize the ethics and ecology of white-cheeked goose meat with his capture and to highlight the actions that are needed to stop the white-cheeked goose invasion in Helsinki.

– Soppa will be served as long as there is enough, but at least 200: for the first one, Kärnä says.

According to Kärnä, the white-cheeked geese that went to the cauldron were shot in Estonia by a support man.

– These nuisances are effectively hunted there, and it is essential that we reduce the goose population effectively in Finland as well. This requires the measures of both the city of Helsinki and the parliament, Kärnä linjaa.

According to Kärnä, the geese must be removed from messing up the city and pooping.

– They spoil the swimming beaches and parks with feces. This is a city of people. No white-cheeked geese. They belong in the cauldron and not in the city as a nuisance to the people.
