Ukrainian mountaineer Antonina Samoilova on the top of Mount Everest raised the flag of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade “Edelweiss”, stationed in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

Ukrainian mountaineer Antonina Samoilova accomplished quite a feat by conquering the two highest peaks in the world – Everest and Lhotse. However, her ascent was of special significance, because on the top of the world she unfurled the battle flag of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade “Edelweiss” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This flag, having passed through the trials of war, became a symbol of the indomitable Ukrainian spirit and the courage of our defenders. Samoilova noted that she wants to convey words of support and gratitude to every Ukrainian soldier who defends our country on the front lines.
