Motorola Edge (2024) smartphone introduced

Company Motorola presented a new smartphone Edge (2024). The device is intended for the US market, it resembles the international Motorola Edge 50 Fusion, but with many differences. For example, Motorola Edge (2024) supports 15 W wireless charging. It also has 68W fast wired charging: the manufacturer claims that the 5000mAh battery can be charged to 50% in 15 minutes. 

Motorola Edge (2024) received a 6.6-inch P-OLED screen curved on both sides with FHD+ resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The peak brightness of the display is 1300 nits, the refresh rate – 144 Hz, and the PWM frequency – 720 Hz. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone is built on SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, equipped with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in memory; it runs Android 14 “out of the box”.

The main camera of the device received a 50-MP Sony Lytia 700C sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), it is complemented by a 13-MP ultra-wide-angle camera that also fits for macro photography. The camera can record video in 4K resolution at 30 frames per second, or 1080p at 60 frames per second. The front camera has a resolution of 32 MP.

Motorola Edge (2024) communication capabilities include 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC. The smartphone has two SIM cards: there is one nano format slot, and the second – eSIM. Motorola Edge (2024) is thicker and heavier than its predecessor: 8.1 mm and 174 g versus 7.6 mm and 168 g, but the battery is also more capacious: 5000 mAh versus 4300 mAh. The back panel of the smartphone is made of artificial leather, it is protected against water and dust according to the IP68 standard. The new product will be released in the US on June 20 and will be sold for $550.
