The mother of Suchir Balaji, the tragically deceased former OpenAI employee, disagrees with the conclusions of the police and the forensic expert about suicide. To finance an independent investigation, she created a cryptocurrency wallet on the Solana network, having collected almost $140,000 so far.
Ramarao is confident that her son was not suicidal. According to her, Balaji was in a good mood just a few hours before the tragedy and enthusiastically discussed the upcoming trip. However, a private investigator hired by the mother found signs of a struggle in the deceased's apartment, including blood stains in the bathroom and a mess in the room.
Amid the controversy, journalist George Webb published a video of a survey of Balaji's apartment, confirming the presence of signs of violence. Despite this, the authorities have not changed their position yet.
Balaji has previously openly criticized OpenAI for using data from the Internet to train AI, which, in his opinion, undermines the value of authored content. He discussed the issue with reporters from The New York Times, who previously filed a lawsuit against OpenAI and Microsoft.
The victim's mother is calling on the FBI to step in to shed light on the circumstances, which she says do not match the official story. The fundraising continues to gain momentum, reflecting the public interest in investigating the tragedy.
