It will be very difficult to drive the rashists out of Ukraine this year by military means.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said this after the meeting of the Contact Group for Support of Ukraine at the German Ramstein airbase U.S. Army Gen. Mark Milley.

"It will be extremely difficult by military action to drive Russian forces out of Ukraine during this year. I'm not saying it's impossible or it won't happen, but it's extremely difficult. We need to stabilize the front and I think it will depend on training, on the delivery of equipment, and I think that Ukraine can carry out offensive operations at the tactical and strategic level,” Milli said.

According to him, from a military point of view conditions are very difficult now, and the front line has stretched over a vast territory.

“The front line goes from Kharkov to Kherson and it is more or less static, with the exception of Soledar, Bakhmut. This is a huge territory and there are many Russian forces that have occupied Ukraine,” Milli said.
