In the event of an accident at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant  (ZNPP), more than 400 thousand people from the Zaporozhye and Dnipropetrovsk regions are subject to mandatory evacuation.

About this  reports the head of the Zaporizhia OVA Oleksandr Starukh.

"If we take a 50 km zone of mandatory evacuation, which may result from the accident at the nuclear power plant in Enerhodar, then this is more than 200 thousand in our region and about 200 thousand in the neighboring Dnepropetrovsk region”, – he said.

Starukh noted that residents of Nikopol, Marganets, Energodar, Vasilyevka, Dneprorudny and a number of other settlements are subject to evacuation.

He also added that it is very difficult to fully implement measures to protect civilians, because part of the territory is occupied.

Starukh added that the radiation situation at the nuclear power plant is currently stable.
