"Monkeying Ukraine": an expert on the creation of unmanned systems forces by the Russians

The creation of such a year of troops leads to a change in the conduct of hostilities.

Over the past year, Ukraine has been creating the Unmanned Systems Forces, which began to fully function in June 2024.

This was stated on the air of Espresso by a military expert, director of development of the information and consulting company Defense Express, Valery Ryabikh.

He noted that Russia is copying Ukraine in this regard, trying to create its own forces of unmanned systems.

“Such a message from the Russians says that this idea is only in its infancy. At the very least, they plan to create this branch of the military by the fall, exactly in about 9 months. In the Russian Federation, this process is only at the initial stage, while Ukraine announced the creation of the Forces of Unmanned Systems a year ago. And since June 2024, such forces in Ukraine have already been operating and inflicting tangible blows on the enemy,” the military expert noted.

Ryabykh noted that the creation of such troops leads to a change in the conduct of hostilities. Ukraine is currently a leader in this matter and does not plan to give primacy to the enemy yet.

“Today, Russia is limited in the creation of unmanned systems, because it is disconnected from advanced technological developments. At the same time, Ukraine has gained access to systems manufactured by Western partners, and is also actively developing its own capabilities to develop new unmanned systems and improve those that are already in operation. We have already witnessed battles that were conducted by both airborne unmanned systems and ground vehicles,” Valery Ryabikh summarized.
