The Ministry of Education of Moldova has developed amendments to the education code that will ban the use of mobile phones in lessons.

This was reported on Friday, On August 30, Moldovan Minister of Education Dan Perchun reported, writes “European Truth” with reference to NewsMaker.

Perchun said that he will present a draft law on the use of mobile phones next week.

“We will regulate the use of mobile phones in schools only during lessons, but not during breaks. Students will be able to bring phones to school, but during lessons they will have to leave them in specially designated places and will not be able to use them” – he explained.

The head of the Ministry of Education of Moldova noted that a similar ban is already in effect in some European countries, and its purpose – “to make it so that schoolchildren can concentrate more on the educational process”.

According to Perchun, he will also approve an order for schools, which will clearly describe how to organize this process: where to keep phones, who is responsible for keeping telephones, etc.

If adopted, the new rules will come into effect from the new academic year, he added.
