Moldova introduces new rules for truck border crossings. Launches its eQueue

Moldova introduces an electronic queue for truck border crossing, similar to the Ukrainian “e-Queue” system. This was reported by the press service of the Association of Forwarders of Ukraine (AMEU) with reference to information from the Moldovan Customs Service.

Back in late 2023, Moldova was interested in the Ukrainian experience of electronic registration for border crossings in order to relieve truck queues at border crossings.

The Moldovan analogue of eQueue is called BQS and the first pilot electronic queue will start operating from January 30, 2025 at the Costesti checkpoint with Romania.

According to AMEU, an average of 30,000 trucks cross the border between Moldova and Romania, now this process will become more organized.

It is expected that thanks to BQS border crossing time for trucks will be reduced by 90%.
