A City of Mississauga transit bus fell into a ditch Tuesday morning, injuring several people.

12 people, 10 of whom were passengers on the bus, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Toronto police say.

The accident took place near the intersection of Dixon Road and Highway 27 in the west end of Toronto. The bus was on Route 11 and traveling southbound on Highway 27. Police say the bus and a car collided.

About thirty passengers were on board the bus at the time of the accident.

Highway 27 is closed in both directions near the scene of the accident.
