Milwaukee killed in Molson shooting

WASHINGTON – A shooting spout at a beer hall in the northern United States left “five dead Wednesday”, said President Donald Trump, local media reporting that the gunman was a former employee of the recently licensed company.

“A horrible assassin opened fire at the Molson Coors brewery factory, taking the lives of five, injuring others, some seriously,” the Republican billionaire told a press conference at the White House.

“It is a terrible thing. Terrible. So our thoughts are with the people of Wisconsin and the families, ”he added.

Police in Milwaukee, the largest city in the state of Wisconsin, where the incident took place, tweeted in the afternoon about a “serious incident” and asked the public to stay away.

“There are several dead (…) whose shooter I believe,” Milwaukee mayor Tom Barrett told reporters after visiting the scene. “It is a horrible day for the employees,” he added, speaking of a “terrible shooting”.

The Molson Coors company is undergoing restructuring and the shooter, who had been dismissed on Wednesday according to the Fox 6 chain, wore a work suit from the brewery.

Dozens of emergency vehicles and numerous armed police were dispatched to the scene, according to images broadcast by American television.

“Our prayers go to families who have lost loved ones,” said House Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi on Twitter. “Congress has a duty for them to take real action to stop gun violence.”

Several schools around the brewery had been placed on alert and cordoned off according to the protocol in force.

“The daycare was placed in containment at 2:20 pm. We haven’t heard anything, but we see two police vehicles out the window, ”Bre Townsend, an educator with a child-friendly establishment near the scene of the shooting, told AFP this afternoon.
