Microsoft has reported success in getting customers to use access keys instead of passwords.
The company insists that the success of access keys is due to a new approach to organizing the user experience, or UX, which, in turn, is due to the inevitable demand for this type of login, sometimes called «push».
Developers also attribute the success to the fact that they will not allow users to refuse access keys, or «invitations», as they are also called, but at the same time control how often they appear. It is noted that the latest updates to Windows sign-in have led to a 10% decrease in password use and a 987% increase in access key use.
Developers expect «hundreds of millions of new users to create and use invitations» in the coming months.
