Microsoft laptops to get Arm-based AI chip from MediaTek

Microchip maker MediaTek is developing a new chip for Microsoft's personal computer. It will be made on the basis of Arm and will have artificial intelligence, writes Reuters.

The Microsoft company presented a new generation of its laptops that have MediaTek chips developed using Arm technology. They will provide the necessary power for artificial intelligence applications to work properly.

The new chip should appear next year — after the end of the cooperation between Microsoft and Qualcomm, which previously supplied the company's microcircuits since 2016.

It does not take much time to design a new microcircuit, because they will already be created on the ready-made projects of the Arm company.

Microsoft and MediaTek did not provide comments.
