Microsoft has begun the forced distribution of the Windows 11 24H2 update for computers running Windows 11 22H2 and 23H2.
It is noted that support for Windows 11 23H2 will end in October 2025, and support for Windows 11 22H2 Home and Pro versions was discontinued in October 2024. The current Windows 11 24H2 rollout began in October last year and is designed to completely replace Windows 11 22H2 and 23H2.
Microsoft notes that the update will be installed automatically on all computers, except those administered by corporate IT departments. Users who do not want to wait for the download can install the update manually in the “Windows Update”. Microsoft also emphasized that Windows 11 24H2 will not be installed on incompatible computers and some other PCs.
In particular, installation is not available for systems with the Auto HDR function enabled, with Dirac sound enhancement applications installed, on systems with Asphalt 8 and Assassin's Creed games, on some Asus devices with built-in webcams, as well as on systems with the Safe Exam Browser and applications with Easy Anti-Cheat support.
Most likely, this is due to unresolved issues that led to problems in the operation of the above software after installing Windows 11 24H2.
