Art is always pushing the limits and exploring new possibilities. That is why it is logical that it is there where we begin to see the use of new technologies that in the future will be part of everyday life, such as artificial intelligence.
The gallery owner Tomás Redrado Known in the art world as one of the youngsters of Generation Z who is opening doors in the United States for emerging artists and giving new spaces to established creators, is offering in his gallery in the city of Miami the V exhibition of the multidisciplinary New York artist Paris Kain.
In V, Kain juxtaposes George Orwell's iconic piece of literature 1984 with the possibilities of artificial intelligence and the fashion reference of the V of the Versace brand on silk shirts, so much in vogue during the 1990s. . As a result, the artist achieves a fantasy world with vibrant colors and elegance, generating an ode both to the past that was beginning to be forgotten and to the new that comes with the digital world.

The art pieces in this exhibition look like paintings but are digital images printed on high-quality thick silk fabrics from TARONI 1880, the legendary Italian silk factory responsible for much of the historical fashion collections. In total there are 13 pieces of which each one will have an edition of 2.
The exhibition presents various layers to be discovered. From the direct reference to Orwell's 1984, a work of futuristic fiction that shows a submissive world under authoritarianism, to less noticeable allusions such as the reference to the 80's television series, “V alien invasion”.
The exhibition can be seen at the Tomás Redrado gallery in Miami, from Tuesday to Saturday between 11 in the morning and 6 in the afternoon.
In turn, through art, Kain adds to the ethical debate on artificial intelligence. For years it has been argued that artificial intelligence will leave millions of people on the planet unemployed. Kain mixes artificial intelligence with “lighter” notes like the 90s fashion trend, to generate new perspectives on the subject.
Although according to the artist, there is a lot behind the V of Versace in silk shirts, which does not make it as “light” as some believe. Never before has an element of this type served as a mode of expression for communities as diverse as hip-hop, the LGBTQ community, or the Latino community. Something that the exhibition also celebrates.
Leandro Fernández-Suárez – Consul General of Argentina in Miami
Kain wondered what the iconic Versace shirts would look like in a future post-human world. To find the answer, he spent more than 100 hours exploring with artificial intelligence to shape this new world, which he then printed on historically relevant silks.
The result can be seen at the Tomás Redrado gallery in Miami, from Tuesday to Saturday between 11 in the morning and 6 in the afternoon.
