Merchant ship attacked off Yemen

Maritime security officials said merchant ship was attacked attack in the Red Sea, where the Yemen-based Houthis have been attacking ships since late last year.

The United Kingdom's maritime trade body said it had received reports of a strike on the stern of a merchant ship by a "small watercraft" 5-7 meters long, reports Voice of America.

Security firm Ambrey reported that the attack occurred about 125 kilometers southwest of the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah.

No damage or casualties were reported. More detailed information was also not provided.
