The wife of US President-elect Donald Trump, Melania, will probably not permanently reside in the White House after the man's inauguration, CNN reported. The decision may be related to her desire to maintain a certain independence, as well as not change her usual way of life in Florida and New York.
According to the TV channel, Mrs. Trump plans to spend most of her time at the Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, where she has most of her friends, as well as in New York, where their son Barron Trump is studying at university.

However, as sources noted, Trump's wife has already shown a certain degree of independence when she decided not to participate in the traditional symbolic meeting at the White House with the current first lady Jill Biden. Representatives of the Republican team explained this by Melania Trump's busy schedule due to the promotion of her book.
During his first term as president, Donald Trump spent winter weekends at Mar-a-Lago, and summer ones – at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. CNN expects the politician to maintain the tradition.
At the end of 2020, American media wrote that Melania was going to leave Donald Trump and file for divorce.
