McFly & Carlito Stop This Concept After A Warning, Unpublished Images Revealed

On YouTube, concepts come and go. Trends that follow the changing tastes of viewers, to which content creators must constantly adapt. Despite everything, it happens that concepts last several months, even several years. Subscribers to Squeezie, Amixem and McFly & Carlito know something about it. However, Raphaël Carlier and David Coscas had to abandon one of their popular concepts following a reminder of the law.

“We call people at random“, “Our worst anecdotes“, “Méli-Mélo“, “Anecdotal contest“, “Mario credit card“, McFly & Carlito has a whole host of varied concepts that their loyal subscribers have been following with pleasure for years. After a while, concepts are abandoned in favor of new ones, an eternal renewal that is meant to be refreshing. Unfortunately for the duo, the concept of alcohol tastings is over.

In their latest video, soberly named “Alcohol tastings are over! (+ an unpublished excerpt with Joyca and Elian)“, the videographers explain that they were called to order, with a legal text as a bonus.“We were put under a little pressure. This pressure is called French law“, explains Carlito. The law in question is the Evin law. This law regulates the promotion of alcohol and stipulates that these drinks cannot be presented in an attractive or favorable light. Legal notices on alcohol abuse have been mandatory since then, and unfortunately for McFly & Carlito, this disclaimer was not enough.

The Addictions France association, which initiated the reminder of the law, believes that the two videographers share an overly entertaining image of alcohol. They are seen drinking and laughing in the company of friends, situations that do not adequately depict the seriousness of excessive alcohol consumption. And in the case of the promotion of alcohol, particularly in front of a very large number of Internet users, and in front of a relatively young target, the law is intended to be firm.

“The message can't be 'drinking with friends, it's too funny'“, admits Carlito. A warning to the law that McFly & Carlito consider “justified”, which nevertheless changes the duo's publication plans. Two other videos had already been filmed, they cannot however be broadcast. An excerpt was nevertheless shared in the video of this September 26, where McFly, Carlito, Joyca and Elian consult together to try to break through updated the true definitions of moelleux and fondant au chocolat.

As BFM TV explains, this announcement comes just a few hours after the publication of a report by the Addictions France association which condemns the strong presence of alcohol on social networks. More than 11,300 contents highlighting alcohol were identified between June 2021 and January 2024, via a survey conducted with the Avenir santé association. Alcohol floods social networks, influences young people, and therefore deserves to be controlled, as the Evin law stipulates.
