The plot is based on a true story about how a group of high school students from Dallas set off to China in 1984 for women's football competitions and defeated several top women's teams from China, Australia and Italy.

McConaughey will play Bill Kinder, a women's football coach who, despite all the bureaucratic difficulties, lack of experience and preparation leads the team to victory. Moreover, his girls were deservedly considered outsiders of the competition.

Shooting the drama “Dallas Sting” starting this fall. No release date has been announced.

Note that Matthew McConaughey's last major film role was in Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen. After that, the actor was engaged only in voice acting.

As the ProShoKino editors reported, Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson will play in an Irish tragicomedy about friendship.
