Massive technical failure at German airports

A serious technical failure has occurred in Germany, related to the computer systems of the Federal Police. This has caused flight delays and long queues at airports.

A government representative confirmed that the problem concerns the systems for checking passengers arriving in the country. Police officers are forced to deal with many manual processes that were previously automated. Despite the difficulties, the situation is being controlled.

The causes of the failure have not yet been established. However, WDR reports that long queues have emerged at security at Düsseldorf Airport, with some passengers having to wait up to two hours. It is also currently not possible to enter Germany from countries outside the Schengen area.
