American actor, “Oscar” and producer Mark Wahlberg (“Uncharted: Off the Map”) will star in the new comedy The Family Plan, co-produced by Apple Original Films and Skydance Media. Deadline writes about this, citing its own sources.
Wahlberg will also produce the comedy with Steven Levinson of Municipal Pictures, and David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger of Skydance.
The film was directed by Simon Cellan Jones (“Klondike”). Screenplay by David Coggeshell.
In the story, a small-town father is forced to flee with his family when the past begins to catch up with him.
Recall that Wahlberg recently worked with Jones on King Arthur , which is still in post-production and doesn't even have a release date.
Note that Wahlberg remains one of Hollywood's busiest stars. He started his year filming Uncharted: Off the Cards, followed by the Sony Pictures drama “Stu's Father”, he also starred with Kevin Garth in the comedy “Self Time” (Me Time) and the thriller Our Man From Jersey (“Our Man from Jersey”) for Netflix.
