Marc Márquez says goodbye to the season: he will be out for two to three months

After weeks of clearing up doubts from race to race, Honda has finally announced that Marc Márquez will not race again until the fracture in the right humerus that he suffered at the Spanish Grand Prix has been completely rehabilitated. The Japanese team estimates that the eight-time world champion could be out for between two and three months , so the Catalan driver could have said goodbye to the season.

Márquez fractured his right humerus last month at the Jerez circuit and already forced himself to try to race that same week, only four days after undergoing surgery. Although he finally rejected the idea, the Catalan had to go back to the operating room three weeks ago to repair the titanium plate, which had been damaged by accumulation of stress. After the relapse, the one from Cervera has opted for prudence.

“From the first day after the second operation, the only objective for him was to return to one hundred percent. We do not want to rush . Once Márquez is ready to return and compete at the level he can, we will think about the next objective”, explained Alberto Puig, the team's sports director.

And that goal may be next season . The MotoGP World Championship will end on November 15, so only if you meet the most optimistic deadlines could you be in one of the last events in Aragon (October 18 and 25) or Valencia (November 8 and 15). If not, Márquez would have already said goodbye to the course without having been able to defend his crown.
