Cocaine, cannabis, alcohol: a refuge that has become daily. This phenomenon extends to all sectors, from start-ups to construction sites.

< P >For some, the day begins with a cocaine rail, or a firecracker. “If I couldn't consume a little cocaine, I couldn't get up,” said < EM > AFP Philippe, 50, former sales director in a start-up. Cocaine quickly became the solution to her problems: fatigue, stress, lack of self -esteem. He remembers his frantic days, punctuated by consumption every half hour to hold until the end of the day, while juggling with the requirements of his post. This phenomenon is not isolated, it affects many sectors, from Parisian offices to construction sites.

< P >The French Observatory for Drugs and Addictive Trends (OFDT) reports that in 2023, nearly 1.1 million people consumed cocaine, a figure upstrely. Ivana Obradovic, assistant director of OFDT, explains that this explosion is due to a combination of the overabundance of production and increasingly intense working conditions. Workers of sectors such as restoration, fishing or hotels turn to these substances to fight against fatigue or frantic rates.

< P > Companies, however aware of this drift, often close their eyes. Philippe remembers the trivialization of consumption in his professional environment: “Everyone consumed!”. An addiction phenomenon that affects both executives and workers, as evidenced by Pierre, a worker in the building, for whom cannabis becomes a remedy against pain and stress of his daily life.
