Man to be tried in Ukraine for revealing military location

A 38-year-old man was detained in Kharkiv for distributing information about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations. These actions were committed under martial law, which is qualified under Part 2 of Art. 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, in October of this year, a man, driving a car through a checkpoint in Kharkiv, filmed military personnel on duty.

Later, he edited the video, adding the exact coordinates of the checkpoint and the personal data of the military personnel. In the video, the “blogger” expressed manipulative theses and accusations against the defenders of Ukraine.

Law enforcement officers emphasize that the dissemination of such information without the permission of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense, or other authorized bodies is prohibited and poses a threat to security.

The accused is currently in custody and awaiting trial in the Dzerzhynskyi District Court of Kharkiv. He faces up to eight years in prison.
