Man gets 5 years in prison for Telegram channel message

A resident of Poltava was convicted for posting on a Telegram channel for evasive persons

This was reported by the press service of the Poltava Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, RegioNews reports.

The Kyiv District Court of Poltava found guilty a man who reported on the location of TCC servicemen and police officers.

It is noted that the man wrote at least three messages in which he reported on the location and performance of official tasks of the personnel of the alert groups, thereby obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other structures during martial law.

The Poltavets resident pleaded guilty to the offense charged against him and entered into a plea agreement with the prosecutor.

According to the court verdict, the offender received 5 years in prison with exemption from serving the sentence with a probationary period of 1 year. The smartphone from which he wrote the messages was also confiscated.
