Man dies after falling while skiing at Mont Avila

A man died following a fall while skiing on Tuesday at Mont Avila, located in Piedmont, in the Laurentians.

This event occurs a few days after a 15-year-old teenager died after falling from a ski lift at a ski resort in Morin-Heights, still in the Laurentians, on Friday.

Police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) from the MRC des Pays-d'en-Haut station were called to go to Mont Avila around 10 a.m. Tuesday, regarding a man who had suffered significant injuries to the following a fall while skiing.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation in assistance to the coroner is being carried out; there would be no criminal element, specified Marc Tessier, spokesperson for the SQ.
