Maloney does not believe Musk poses a danger to democracy

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, commenting on a series of scandalous statements by Elon Musk, said that the American billionaire “does not pose a danger to democracy”.

The statement of the Italian Prime Minister on Thursday was cited by ANSA, reports “European Truth”.

Instead, Meloni is convinced that “interference” occurs in other cases when “rich people use resources to finance parties and associations around the world to influence politics, as in the case of (George) Soros”.

“Musk is expressing his position, and this is what we are talking about. You may like it or not, but when I am told that there is a risk of interference, I answer that this is not the first time that famous and rich people have expressed their opinion,” the Italian prime minister said.

In recent days, Elon Musk has come under fire from several European leaders after publicly supporting the German far-right Alternative for Germany party and calling for the resignation of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
