Lviv will be the first city where 5G technology will be tested. According to the document, the pilot launch of 5G in Ukraine is planned to be carried out in two stages in three cities.

EP interlocutors on the telecom market reported that Lviv will be the first city where testing will take place. If the equipment does not affect the work of the military, the project will be scaled up to Kyiv and Odesa, the publication notes.

However, EP interlocutors are sure that there is no point in talking about the introduction of 5G until the end of the war or active fighting.

Also, experts point out that Lviv, Kyiv and Odesa will not have a full-fledged launch of the network, and the most likely scenario will be the deployment of the technology at several base stations.

The rollout of the network starts from individual locations, so users will have the opportunity to connect to the 5G network in the test locations, said telecommunications expert Roman Khimich.

As reported, on November 1, the Vice Prem Minister of Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov announced the adoption of the aforementioned government resolution, as well as the launch of the pilot project 5G.

According to him, the full launch of fifth-generation mobile communication standards in Ukraine is planned to be completed by 2030.
