Lviv resident who burned down Ukrainian army vehicles on the orders of internet curators will spend 5 years behind bars

Prosecutors proved in court that the accused was offered to earn money in one of the Telegram channels, to which he agreed

On public indictment by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a local resident was found guilty of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations, committed by a group of persons in a prior conspiracy, and involving a minor in illegal activities (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 114-1, Part 1 of Article 304 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

This is reported by the Fourth Studio with reference to the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

He was sentenced to 5 years in prison.

The prosecutors proved in court that the accused was offered to earn money in one of the Telegram channels, for which he agreed.

«The work» consisted of setting fire to cars that had characteristic signs of belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The burning of the vehicle had to be filmed and sent to the «customer».

After the video report, the «payment» was received on the man's account.

Later, after burning the first car, the accused enlisted the help of a minor friend.

Together, they burned two more cars, after which they were exposed and detained by law enforcement officers.

The total amount of damage caused to the victims is almost 800 thousand. UAH.

The accused will be in custody until the verdict comes into force. The case materials regarding the minor have been separated into a separate proceeding and are under consideration in court.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the SBU Department in the Lviv region. Criminal investigation officers of the Lviv region police and counterintelligence of the USBU region were involved in solving the crime.
