LPGA | Danielle Kang keeps her lead at the Champions Tournament
|(Lake Buena Vista) Danielle Kang continued her momentum by dropping a 65 (under-6) card on Friday to extend her two-stroke lead atop the LPGA Championships.
Ranked fifth in the world, Kang has a cumulative score of under-13 on the Four Seasons Golf and Sports in Orlando. She still hasn’t committed a bug after two rounds.
Nelly Korda, who ranks fourth in the world rankings, is second behind Kang after signing a card of 66.
In Gee Chun (65) and Gaby Lopez (68), the defending tournament champion, share third place, minus-9. Two-time major tournament champion Chun tied Kang for the best round of the day.
Jessica Korda played 69 to complete the top-5, under-8. Cheyenne Knight (66) follows in sixth, minus-7.
Canadian Brooke M. Henderson did not commit any buggy on Friday and handed in a 68 card. She is among the leaders with a cumulative score of minus-6.
The 28-year-old Kang won two LPGA events last season.
