BBC journalist Steve Rosenberg spoke with Konstantin Efremov, a Russian officer who participated in the invasion, then refused to serve and fled abroad. He testifies to numerous cases of looting from part of the Russian army and the abuse of Ukrainian prisoners.
I would like to ask the Ukrainians to forgive me for coming as an uninvited guest with a weapon in my hands. But I understand that I have no moral right to ask for forgiveness. I can't forgive myself, so I don't expect them to forgive me.
One of the best BBC reports was presented in full by journalist Andrei Tsaplienko.
This does not mean that we forgive Efremov. This means that we have a witness and the international tribunal for Russian war criminals.
