Lockheed Martin developers presented an innovative missile system with a range of up to 1,500 km

At  the Euronaval 2024 exhibition, Lockheed Martin first presented its new mid-range missile system (Mid-Range Capability , MRC), capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 1,500 km. The installation is a key part of the modernization strategy of the US Armed Forces and is designed to combat advanced threats, particularly in difficult regions of the world, writes Army Recognition. At the exhibition, special attention was paid to the MRC's ability to integrate with various units of the army and ensure close cooperation with allied armed forces.

The system uses Standard Missile-6 (SM-6) and Tomahawk missiles: SM-6 is suitable for air defense and anti-ship tasks, and the Tomahawk allows you to carry out precise strikes on ground targets at a long distance.

The missile system was first deployed on April 11, 2024 in the Philippines as part of Exercise Salaknib 24, this demonstrated its high readiness and ability to quick deployment in real conditions. In the United States, the MRC is becoming an important part of multi-domain operations, supporting the ability to strike deep in the enemy's rear.
