LIVE – Covid-19: nearly 300,000 caregivers still not vaccinated

September 14, 2021 by archyde

On the eve of the implementation of the vaccine obligation against Covid-19 for health professionals, a demonstration was organized by caregivers unions in Paris, in front of the Ministry of Health.

The CGT warned against a “health disaster” if the refractory staff can no longer exercise. FO-Santé for its part demanded from the government “additional time” to defuse “unmanageable situations” in certain hospitals, where “closures of services and beds are being considered” due to the insufficient number of vaccinated agents.

The number one of the reformist union CFDT, Laurent Berger, asked Thursday to “avoid as much as possible that people are sanctioned”. But the executive remains firm. If health professionals have not started their vaccination schedule by tomorrow, their employment contract will be suspended.

According to the authorities’ latest report, as of September 7, just over 88% of caregivers had received at least one dose in hospitals and nursing homes and nearly 94% among the Liberals.
