The modern tank is equipped with a 120mm/L55 smoothbore gun that fires a variety of ammunition, including guided DM11.
The Leopard 2A8 also features advanced protection systems, including next-generation multi-layer armor and Israel's Trophy Active Protection System (APS). The latter provides effective protection against anti-tank and other missiles. This tank has surprising mobility. This is achieved thanks to the 1600 hp engine. The tank develops speeds of up to 70 km/h and overcomes various obstacles.
Leopard 2A8 engineers equipped it with reinforced armor, especially around the turret and hull to increase resistance to mines and other threats. The advanced fire control system ensures exceptional accuracy even while moving. In addition, the tank is equipped with a system of protection against nuclear, biological and chemical weapons, which guarantees the survival of the crew in a hostile environment.
