“Like a house on wheels”: the Ukrainian military appreciated the Bushmaster armored personnel carrier at the forefront

The Ukrainian military is pleased with the Australian Bushmaster armored personnel carriers that are already on the front lines. This is reported by the publication SMH. A driver named Vitaly spoke to reporters about the APC. Now he is behind the front line, as his team was captured. The Bushmaster accommodates the driver, gunner and five other soldiers. Vitaly and the shooter Stepan tried to arrive in time to help their comrades, but they were already captured by the Russians. According to the driver, Ukrainian troops need more of these armored personnel carriers on the front lines for internal security, since they are much better than Soviet-era Ukrainian armored personnel carriers. So far, Australia has sent 20 Bushmasters and six light towed howitzers to Ukraine. "Firstly, it is very convenient. It has air conditioning, it's like a motor home. I would live inside. I am constantly in it. It is armored inside, which is a big plus because it protects the safety and health of the soldiers inside. If we had more of these machines, we would save more lives, and the lives of our soldiers — this is the most important thing,” Vitaly said. It took his team only two or three days to master the Australian armored personnel carrier. “We need artillery and artillery ammunition. We need howitzers, we need more tanks and armored vehicles — a lot of armored vehicles,” Vitaly concluded.
