Sweet honey cakes soaked in delicate sour cream, the aroma of honey and a beautiful golden color – all this is about the honey cake, the favorite dessert of millions of Ukrainians. So let's prepare it together with Radio Maximum at home.

This time, Héctor Jimenez-Bravo shares a recipe for a delicious and tender honey cake. He posted the cooking details on his Instagram page.

Probably each of you has tasted this cake. For me, it is one of my favorites, – says Hector.

Ingredients:

For cakes:
• Eggs – 3 pcs;
• Sugar – 150 g;
• Honey – 140 g;
• Butter – 90 g;
• Soda – 1 tsp;
• Flour – 400 g.

For the cream:
• Fat sour cream – 500 g;
• Sugar – 150 g;
• Lemon juice – ½ pc.

For jam:
• Cherries – 400 g;
• Sugar – 100 g;
• Corn starch – 1 tbsp.

For decoration:
• Fruits, berries , nuts or candied fruits

Method of preparation:

1. Combine eggs, sugar, honey and butter in a pan. Stir, put on fire and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

2. Add soda and mix quickly (the mass should increase in size and lighten).

3. Remove from heat, sift flour and mix well. The dough should be slightly sticky.

4. Place it on a floured surface, cover with a towel and leave for 15 minutes. If the dough is very sticky after that, add a little flour and knead a soft dough (don't add too much flour so as not to clog the dough).

5. We divide the dough into pieces, Hector got 8 cakes (diameter – 20 cm).

6. Roll out each piece very thinly. Bake on a baking sheet lined with parchment, in an oven heated to 180° degrees, for about 4-5 minutes, until golden.

7. Then we take it out, immediately cut off the crusts and break it into crumbs. It is needed for sprinkling the cake.

8. Grease one cake with cream, the other with jam, and so on. And sprinkle crumbs on top. Let it percolate.
