Club León has accumulated four consecutive losses and only managed to win one of its last nine games: it was 3-2 over América, on July 31. Since then, those led by Renato Paiva have only known stumbles and now they have the pressure to take out three units, to get into the fight for the playoffs.
Luckily for the 'Fiera', the qualifying zone is not that far away, but only a victory could grant an important jump in quality. However, the squad will have to correct errors in offense to achieve this and one of the calls to be the protagonist is Ángel Mena, the experienced Ecuadorian midfielder.
In the current campaign, the skillful attacker has not been able to shine and has only one goal and one assist in eight appearances. Precisely, the little proactivity of the aforementioned soccer player also affects Lucas Di Yorio (four goals), who has seven matches without inflating the networks.
For his part, Atlas, who has been two-time champion of the Mexican tournament, has had a notorious slump in the collective and the irregularity endangers the dream of aspiring to the third consecutive crown. However, like their opponent on duty, the 'Foxes' will return to the fight with a victory.
Coach Diego Cocca is preparing some changes in his strategy to shake off the loss against Pachuca (3-1) last date. Julián Quiñones and Julio Furch will lead the attack, while Peruvian Edison Flores is expected to play a more prominent role. Anderson Santamaría, who had been expelled against the ‘Tuzos’, will finally be able to play, after his punishment has been lifted.
