The Laval Police Department (SPL) seized two pistols and a large quantity of drugs worth more than $ 1.17 million, during two searches in December and January.
The seizure of narcotics included 6 kg of cocaine, 3.5 kg of hashish, 36 kg of canned cannabis, 16,000 units of methamphetamine and 64 cannabis plants.
During these two searches, the police also seized a hydraulic press, 92 kilo packaging packages of empty cocaine and $ 200,000 in cash.
Three men arrested in connection with this drug operation have appeared in court. They are suspected of carrying out “the delivery of large quantities of narcotics on behalf of various criminal organizations,” Laval police said in a statement.
Alain Arsenault, 42, and Robert Lamontagne, 45, appeared at the Laval courthouse on charges of possession and trafficking of narcotics, production of cannabis, and possession of a weapon.
A third sidekick, a 29-year-old man, who has not been identified, will return to court on February 24, police said.
The operation called “Doubt” took place in two phases in collaboration with the Sûreté du Québec. The first consisted of searches of a vehicle in Laval as well as two residences in Sainte-Sophie, in the Laurentians, on December 15. The second took place on January 5 in a residence and a vehicle in Laval as well as in a housing in Notre-Dame-des-Prairies, in Lanaudière.
The investigation began in September.
