A powerful hacker attack paralyzed the work of the largest Russian electronic trading operator. A group of cyber experts, acting under the nickname @yellow_drift, reported the successful deletion of more than 500 terabytes of critical data. Among the platform users – hundreds of thousands of government customers, including enterprises of the military-industrial complex.
Scale of cyber sabotage
The attack was so destructive that it completely stopped the operation of the electronic platform. Users of the service are massively reporting the inability to access any functions of the system. The situation is made especially serious by the fact that purchases for strategic enterprises of the aggressor country are made through this platform.
Hackers specifically attacked this resource because of its direct involvement in financing the Russian military machine. Destruction of such a data set will significantly complicate public procurement processes and may lead to significant financial losses.

This cyberattack may have long-term consequences for the Russian public procurement system. The loss of half a petabyte of data means not only a temporary disruption in work, but also the potential compromise of confidential information about government contracts and procurement.
The successful operation of Ukrainian hackers demonstrates the high level of domestic cybersecurity specialists. It also highlights the vulnerability of Russian digital systems and the effectiveness of an asymmetric response to enemy aggression.
