Kyivstar launches exclusive numbers with the new code 077: how to buy

The largest Ukrainian electronic communications operator “Kyivstar” announced the launch of the sale of the first numbers with the new code 077. It will complement the already existing 067, 068, 096, 097 and 098, expanding the operator's numbering capacity. p>

Numbers with the new destination code are available in Kyivstar online and stationary stores, as well as partner stores. Business clients can order a number from their coordinator in the “My Kyivstar B2B” application, the operator's press service clarified. This was reported by the company's press service on Friday.

In total, about 10 million numbers with the destination code “77” will be issued. This will allow the operator to significantly increase capacity, as the utilization rate of existing codes reached 79% before the new code was launched.

Separately, “Kyivstar” specified that owners of Apple smartphones need to update the operating system to IOS 18.1 in order to send SMS to the numbers “077xxxxxxxxx”.

Exclusive combinations will appear on sale, for example – ” 077 777 77 77 77″, the message stated.

On February 28, 2024, the National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Electronic Communications, Radio Frequency Spectrum and Postal Services (NCEC) issued a permit to the largest Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar to use the destination network code 77 (+380 77).

The permit was issued for mobile communications with a subscriber capacity of 10 million non-geographic numbers to provide electronic communications services in Ukraine for a period of 5 years.

It was reported that the additional number resource will enable “Kyivstar” to prevent a shortage of free numbers within the existing network codes for mobile communications. At the time of receiving the new destination network code, Kyivstar used five national NDC mobile network codes: “67”, “68”, “96”, “97” and “98”, and their use reached 79% of the total capacity.

As of February 1, 2024, 6.9 million numbers used the Kyivstar mobile network with the network code “67”, with network code “68” – 7.7 million, with code “96” – 8.32 million, “97” – 8.51 million, “98” – 8.04 million. The capacity of each of the codes is 10 million numbers.
