Wed. Paul (USA) – Basketball player Vít Krejčí will continue in the NBA in the Minnesota jersey after the end in Atlanta. The Timberwolves club announced the arrival of the 23-year-old Czech point guard or wing on social networks, but did not provide details of the contract. Krejčí is in his third season in the overseas league, he played his rookie season in Oklahoma City.
The native of Strakonice wanted to continue in North America. In his first season in the NBA, he played 30 games for Oklahoma and averaged 6.2 points and 23 minutes played. In the Hawks, he had a significantly smaller workload and paid for the reduction of the staff for financial reasons.
For Atlanta last year, he appeared in 29 duels, spent an average of less than six minutes on the board and averaged 1.2 points. However, he had a non-guaranteed contract.
Krejčí will remain the only Czech basketball player in the NBA. Minnesota announced that it will wear number 17 on its jersey. The Timberwolves have been eliminated in the first round of the playoffs each of the last two years.
