Kostiuk started the prestigious WTA tournament with victory

Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk defeated Canadian Stacey Fung from the third hundred of the rating in the first round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Guadalajara, Mexico with a prize fund of $2.788 million.

Our athlete received victory over the opponent in three sets with the score 6:3, 2:6, 6:0.

The match lasted one hour and 56 minutes, during which Kostyuk served three times and committed seven double faults. In Fung — not a single ace and three double mistakes, reports Fakty.ICTV.

Marta's next opponent will be the sixth-seeded Elena Ostapenko from Latvia. At stake will be a ticket to the 1/8 finals of the tournament.

Three Ukrainian women compete for the trophy of the tournament in Guadalajara. Krome Kostyuk — these are Angelina Kalinina and Dayana Yastremskaya, who also successfully passed the starting round of the competition.
