Neonatal nurse Lucy Letby, dubbed the worst child serial killer in modern British history, was found guilty of murdering seven babies and attempting to kill six more newborns.
According to The Guardian, 33-year-old Lucy Letby was sentenced for “persistent, prudent and cold-blooded” killing premature babies in the unit where she worked at the Countess of Chester Hospital in north-west Britain.
According to the investigation, her victims included two triplets and a girl who was born 10 weeks prematurely, whom Lathby killed only on the fourth try.
During the announcement of the sentence, the grief-stricken parents choked and cried, and Lathby herself refused to return to the court to hear the next sentences, however, at the preliminary hearing, she bowed her head and sobbed.
In court, experts proved that the ward nurse intensive therapy administered insulin to children, air or pumped milk. Most often, she did this during the night shift, when the parents of the babies were not around.
After the cold-blooded murders, Letby sought out the families of her victims' parents on Facebook and social media and sent them condolence cards.< /p>

When the number of child deaths began to increase, the hospital became suspicious and transferred the nurse from the night shift.
Her crimes it was committed between 2012 and 2016. A nurse was arrested in 2017 after one of the mothers caught her red-handed during another attempt to kill the baby.
During a search of Lucy Lathby's home in Chester, investigators found medical records detailing what drugs and who she administered.
Now more than 70 detectives continue to investigate other cases of deaths of premature babies to find out if the nurse was involved.
The jury deliberated for 20 days and later found Lucy Letby guilty of terrible crimes. She faces life imprisonment.
