Khmelnytskyi woman transferred 20 thousand hryvnias to scammers for a "gift" from Korea

In Khmelnytskyi, a 40-year-old woman became a victim of scammers who used her passion for K-pop culture to illegally seize funds.

The attackers contacted the woman and reported that she, as a member of an online community of fans of one of the famous Korean bands, had received a gift from Korea. However, to receive the parcel, it was necessary to pay 20 thousand hryvnias.

The woman fulfilled the condition and transferred the funds to the specified account. However, the fraudsters asked to pay an additional amount, after which she realized that she had been deceived.

Police officers are conducting an investigation into this fact and remind citizens to be careful with financial transactions related to unverified sources.
