Kherson Museum asks everyone who visited it to send photos with exhibits

Kherson Art Museum on its Facebook page asks visitors to send photos taken in its halls until February 24, 2022.

The message says that on the third Wednesday of January the world celebrates Museum Selfie Day, when you can come to any museum for free and take a picture with your favorite exhibit, but this year the institution cannot hold this event, since many of the exhibits were taken out by the occupiers, and the building is under restoration.

The museum invites visitors to send photos from past years to support Kherson Art museum.

"Your selfies taken in the museum before the start of a full-scale war, before the occupation of Kherson, are historical documents. Share them with the museum and the whole world! – the message says.

According to the conditions of participation, on January 18, old photos from the museum with the hashtags #MuseumSelfie #MuseumSelfieDay2023 #art_museum_ks must be posted on social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter). The institution, in turn, promises to collect all the photos on the official pages of the museum.

The message also notes that the Museum Selfie Day symbol from the Kherson Art Museum – bust of a young girl by Florentine sculptor Emilio Fiaschi – was also taken out by the invaders under the guise of “evacuation”.
