In Kharkiv, a hostile informant who helped prepare the shelling in the region received 6.5 years in prison.
This was reported to the Dumka publication by Vladislav Abdula, the spokesman for the Ukrainian Security Service in the Kharkiv region.
According to him, the convicted person is a 52-year-old resident of the suburbs of Kharkiv who has close relatives in the occupied territory of the Luhansk region. The enemy in December 2023 remotely recruited a woman to cooperate via messenger.
The woman was supposed to spy on the movement of echelons with armored vehicles towards the front, collect information about the directions of movement of the columns, the composition and number of troops. It also tried to identify places of concentration of the Defense Forces and fortified areas. To do this, she personally went around the area and visually fixed defense objects.
The collected information of the collaborator was sent to the coordinator via Telegram. These were map screenshots, labels and text explanations.
In addition, the perpetrator distributed materials on social networks justifying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and recognized it as legitimate. In her publications in pro-Russian chat rooms, she distributed propaganda materials and glorified persons who carry out armed aggression on the part of the Russian Federation.
The security service detained an enemy informer in April 2024 in her own apartment. A mobile phone with evidence of criminal activity was seized from her.
Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service, the court found the perpetrator guilty under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
She was sentenced to 6 years and 6 months of imprisonment for the set of crimes. Currently, the guilty verdict has not yet entered into legal force, and the time for its appeal continues.
The investigation was conducted by SBU employees in the Kharkiv region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
