NUR-SULTAN (Reuters) – Kazakhstan expects a grain harvest in 2020 at the level of 18.5 million tons, wants to export 7-8 million tons, Agriculture Minister Saparkhan Omarov said on Tuesday.
According to him, to date, 99.5% of the area has been harvested, 20 million tons of grain have been threshed.
“According to our calculations, in net weight the volume of grain will be about 18.5 million tons and the export potential from this volume, we calculate about 7-8 million tons,” the minister said.
In 2019, the grain harvest in Kazakhstan amounted to 17.4 million tons.
