Kayaker Bonnie Hancock has made Australian sporting history by setting two world records after a grueling 254 days of swimming. The Australian struggled with crocodiles, sharks, hypothermia and waves up to six meters high. This Sunday, August 28, Hancock completed a 12,700 km journey in the waters off the Gold Coast. Her achievements can get into the Guinness Book of Records. “This 254 day journey has been life changing. It was much more difficult, but also much more incredible than I could have imagined. For the first month, every day it seemed to me that my back was breaking. I knew my body would be pushed to the limit,” she said.
